Healthy You, Healthy Home

Healthy You, Healthy Home
Have you ever heard the expression: you can’t be fully healthy without a healthy home?

Probably not … since I just made it up right now.

But, I firmly believe it. You can’t achieve a true, healthy lifestyle without first looking inward at your daily routines, and your home.

What’s lurking under your kitchen sink, which products you clean your home with, and what you put in and on your body are all important.

And I’m sure you’re like me, a few years back, I had NO idea all of the junk, yuck, and nasty chemicals that were hiding in our kitchen cabinets.

Do you?

Don’t fret! I certainly don’t want to add yet another item to your ever-growing laundry list of things to do around the house.

But, as always, I’m here to serve. Let’s fast-forward and I’ll provide you my best tips of where to start looking for these pesky products in your own home.

The Scariest Areas of your Home
Check here first. These are a few of the scariest areas of your home where chemicals can so easily be disguised as something “healthy, green, safe, and non-toxic.”

Under the Kitchen Sink
YIKES! This can be an overwhelming area of your home in general, but to start thinking through the harmful chemicals that may be hiding—double scary. Simplify things with this one cleaner that is natural, safe, and effective. We use this ONE, yes ONE, cleaner to provide a masterful clean for our entire home. Could you say this is the answer to all of your problems? If you’re a mom—YES, I think that’s fair.

Laundry Room
This can be another super toxic area of your home. And who knew, the scents of detergent and fabric softeners are so pleasant. But, that’s just the issue! The chemicals are disguised under those “fresh scents.” And, they are incredibly harmful to us, and our overall health. We use this instead. It’s WAY cheaper, it’s crazy effective, and removes stains every single time.

Bathroom
Oh the bathroom! This is a space in our homes that should be a sanctuary, a retreat, and a place where we can have the best start to our day. Instead, many of us are bogged down by the chemical burden that completely consumes our beauty products, deodorant, fragrances, and toothpaste. News flash, every single one of these products that you can pick up from the store are chocked FULL of chemicals. Explore these safe alternatives that have transformed our health and our home instead.

Feeling a bit stressed after learning what is really hiding in your home?
Strike a yoga pose (or 5) with our resident yoga expert herself, Amy Kaspar, of Country Road 5280. She’s got great tips to create a mindful, relaxed space while practicing proper yoga poses.

Now that you’re refocused and recharged, let’s tackle your home together! I’d love to work with you to create the healthy home of your dreams.

Hit me up, and we can schedule a time to chat about making your goals of a healthy home a reality.

The Resolutions Are IN!

HOW ARE YOU STAYING ON TRACK IN 2O21?
Many of us started out the New Year with a fresh perspective, some goals in mind, and a strong opinion that we don’t want to revisit 2020.

But, how are those goals coming along? Are you already feeling "off pace?"

Relaxing, finding your center, and tuning in to what really matters most will help you stay the course to achieving your goals ahead—no matter how big or small they may be.

I recently started watching The Home Edit, per some strong recommendations from girlfriends, and the results are in—it’s a MUST-SEE! From organizing the pantry, to the closet, and everywhere in between, following their method of: edit, organize, contain, and maintain has been extraordinary. This new-to-us method is a breath of fresh air in our home, and allows us to feel completely relaxed, renewed, and relaxed in our home.

Have we done every room of our home? Nope … not yet. But, there is no denying--the method of editing and organizing our space has been wonderful.

Would I call it a game-changer?! Absolutely!!

Along with plenty of goals to simplify our routine, slow down and be in the moment, and reorganize our home, it’s also a goal of ours to live healthy + well. Easier said than done, I know.

A sweet college friend, Amy and I recently reconnected, and her blog, the Country Road 5280 is totally inspiring me today (and always!).

Her recent blog outlines the goals she has for her home, and how she plans to reduce, reuse, and simplify her home in 2021, all while achieving her ultimate goal of being sustainable. She rocks, and so does her blog!

I can’t wait to implement some of her sustainable hacks, and share a few of my own oily tips + tricks to achieve an uber-relaxed, efficient, and sustainable home of my own.

News flash--you can do it, too!

Catch a few of my tips and tricks to achieve this {mostly} stress-free lifestyle. Promise—you won’t want to miss these time-saving, money-saving hacks.

Best Time Saving Hacks for Busy Women: Part 2

Best Time Saving Hacks for Busy Women: Part 2

Did you catch the first segment of my Best Time Saving Hacks for Busy Women earlier this week? If not, don’t miss it! You can find it right here.

To continue these great tips to maximize your time, while being a great and fully focused mama, keep reading. You’ll essentially be at Wonder Woman status once you’ve read and implemented these bad boys into your daily routine.

Say “no” more often

Yup—I’m totally guilty of not following this one myself, but it’s an absolute must to reaching your goals and sticking with them. You have my full permission—just say “NO!”

Listen to a podcast, inspirational video while exercising

This has been my jam lately. I always want to maximize my time. Listening to a podcast or watching a professional development video while I do some yoga or get in some cardio has been a motivator to do something good for myself while also expanding my mind—love it!

Get your groceries delivered

Ugh, this one is just so easy. Just push that darn easy button already. You’ll save time, you’ll save money, and most importantly, you’ll save your sanity from taking small children into the grocery store. Because let’s be honest—that’s just nuts!

Shop online

Same concept as getting those groceries delivered. Just shop online! You can get everything you need, oftentimes with free shipping, plus you only shop for what you actually need instead of being tempted by the dollar section at Target. We all know that is where our wallets go to die!

Batch home projects

This is a hint at the first rendition of this blog, the Best Time Saving Hacks for Busy Women: Part 1. Get that to do list out, determine what all of your home-related projects are. Maybe it’s cleaning out that pesky (and stinky!) mudroom, or finally donating those clothes you’ve been meaning to get rid of for years. Whatever it is, make a list of these projects, set a timer (20 or 30 minutes will do), and go to town! You’ll feel so glad when it’s done, and your house will be less cluttered, too. Win, win!

Got all these down? You go, mama! I’m rooting for you! And if you ever have any questions along the way, don’t hesitate to reach out. Us mamas on a mission to live better, healthier, more abundant lives have GOT to stick together. I’m here for YOU!

Best Time Saving Hacks for Busy Women: Part 1

Prep the night before

This is a game-changer! Set your clothes out for the next day. Pack your lunch, pack your bags, and set out anything you need to have your morning go smoothly. This will save time and your sanity—promise!

Make a to do list

If we don’t know what we’re reaching for, how can we possibly achieve it? Write out a to do list for your day or your week—whatever works best for you. I love unloading EVERYTHING that’s been racing through my mind as a busy mom, wife, and entrepreneur, on a piece of paper on Sunday evening or early Monday morning. I do this each week to reduce my stress, have things written down so they’re out of my head, and then organize that list into priorities that need to get done each day of the week.

Get up earlier

I’m not going to beat around the bush on this one. It can be tough to wake up earlier if you’re not a morning person, but even 15-20 minutes can make a world of difference for your day. I love waking up 30-45 minutes before the rest of my household wakes up. It allows me to ease into my mornings and helps me feel like I’m starting the day off mindfully vs. as a scatter-brained, hurry mess!

Simplify your morning

Keep it simple! No need to put on your full glam makeup if you’ll just be hanging around the house.

Dry shampoo + baby wipes are your friend

After becoming a mom, dry shampoo and baby wipes literally became two of my best friends. I use dry shampoo nearly every day because I have to let you in on a little secret—I don’t shower everyday. Baby wipes are also super great to have in your bag, in the car, or at the office when you need a little refresh. Here’s my favorite baby wipe brand that leaves me feeling super refreshed, and smelling great!

Love these time-saving tips? There’s more of where that came from! More time-saving hacks are coming your way in a future blog post.

Wishing you health, wealth, + abundance always!
