Make Your Home Feel Larger with 3 Simple Swaps

Feeling cramped in your home? This is a common feeling we can all relate to at some point or another. Whether it’s a bedroom, or a gathering space, there are simple swaps to make your space feel bigger, more spacious, and overall more luxurious. Just follow our quick and easy steps to enhance the feeling of your home today. And, if you need a little extra hand-holding, you know who to call — we’re happy to help!

1. Play With Mirrors

Using mirrors to enhance the overall look and ambience of your space can make a huge difference in a space – especially when you’re tight on room. Mirrors reflect to allow the appearance of the continuation of a smaller space.

2. Add Height

Height in the form of an oversized gallery picture wall, a cool feature wall with a pop of color or a striking design, or my personal favorite – taking some stunning curtains from floor to ceiling will not only add the look and illusion of higher ceilings, but will make your room and your windows seem larger all around. Win-win!

3. Scale Appropriately

If your space is already feeling cramped, adding large, bulky furniture, or too much furniture is just going to make your room feel tighter. In the same vein, selecting furniture, finishes, and accessories that are too small for the scale of your home can also make your space feel smaller. Darn – this is tricky, am I right?!

To strike the right balance, select furniture and pieces that are appropriate and in relation to the size and scale of your room. Big truth bomb? This is HARD, and can be improved with experience, shopping, and plenty of measurements. To ensure you’ve got the right balance of it all, work with an interior designer to find the right size and scale of your furniture, your rugs, accessories, lighting, and decor to accentuate your space. Don’t stress — you have a designer in your back pocket. Just reply to this email — I’ve got you! Who knew your home could feel larger in as easy as 1, 2, 3?!
