Rise + Grind | Are you ready for the road ahead?

As we all gear up to return to work or to send our kids back to school, there are some important questions to consider.

- How are YOU feeling?

- Are you ready to return to a more hectic lifestyle?

- Are you mentally ready to get back into the swing of things?

- Is your immune system prepared to take on returning to your daily (hectic) routine?

These are all questions that have been weighing heavily on my mind. The main being, “am I really ready?”

I want things to go back to “normal.” I want to see my family and friends, return to mass, have playgroups for the kids, host dinner parties at our home, go out on date nights. YES—I WANT to do all of these things. But something inside me is cautioning me from going hog wild and completely indulging in these once everyday occurrences.

Are you experiencing any of these same mixed emotions? I can’t be the only one struggling here, right?!

Luckily, I have found a few simple steps to help me work through all of these built-up emotions and feelings of fear. And, they only take a couple of minutes each day to feel motivated, empowered, and totally fulfilled. Ready to dive in?

1. Take time to reflect.
It doesn’t need to take a lot of time. Just a couple of minutes each day. This is so important. Wake up, and immediately wrap your head around the new day. Show gratitude, be thankful for the new day ahead and embrace it fully. What are you grateful for today?

2. Take care of one another.
Right now it’s so easy to feel isolated, alone, scared. These are all valid feelings. But there are so many ways we can work through and overcome these emotions to change them into feelings of gratitude, positivity, and dare I say it, even joy!

Take time to connect with loved ones over FaceTime, Zoom, or a phone call. Check-in on a neighbor you have not seen in a couple of days. Send a quick text or Facebook messenger to a friend you haven’t connected with in a while. Taking just 10 minutes a day to do a quick check-in with family and friends will likely mean a great deal to them on the receiving end, and will also help fill up your cup for the day. It’s a huge game-changer!

3. Invest in yourself.
Invest in your professional development, buy that book that’s been on your reading list, take a class, grab that workout app you’ve been drooling over, snag those amazing high-quality oils to get ALL oiled up, and get your health and wellness in check. Improving yourself during this difficult time at home is the ultimate gift you can give yourself. And a gift that never stops giving.

Are you ready to return to the daily grind? I’d love to hear from you!

Wishing you all the best on your health + wellness journey ahead!
